The Palm Pre was designed and marketed by Palm Inc. It was launched last June 6, 2009 with Sprint as its network provider. Ten, there was a revised model which is the Palm Pre Plus. It had doubled memory and the internal storage compared with the old version. It was released by Verizon Wireless last January 25, 2010 by Verizon Wireless and by AT&T Mobility last May 16, 2010.
The Palm Pre for sale is a multi-touch screen with a sliding keyboard multimedia smartphone. It is the first to use the Palm’s Linux based Mobile Operating System and WebOS (current version 1.4.2). The functions are it has a camera phone, portable media player and has a location and navigation capabilities. It also serves as Personal Information Manager. It is a type of application software that functions as a personal organizer. It also has a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built-in connectivity.
It has a 3.1 inch touch screen over a 24-bit color 320x480 resolution HVGA liquid-crystal display. It also has a QWERTY keyboard and a 3.2 megapixel digital camera with LED flash.
With regards to its connectivity, it is available with high-speed connectivity on either EVDO Rev. A or UMTS HSDPA, depending on location. It also includes 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with support for A2DP stereo headsets. A turn by turn navigation is also included through a GPS feature.
An 8.0 GB of internal flash storage is the storage capacity of the Palm Pre.
The Palm Pre’s CPU is composed of 600 MHz (underclocked to 500 MHz) Texas Instruments OMAP 3430 (ARM Cortex A8 + PowerVR SGX)
The Palm Pre has received awards and positive reviews. It got CNET’s Best in Category: Cell Phones and Smartphones and People’s Voice for CES 2009. It also got the award Laptop Magazine’s Smartphone March Madness in 2010 defeating the other smartphones in the market. Not many cheap phones for sale can boast that claim.
